How to Buy a Liquidation Truckload in Canada

Updated September 29, 2026 Β· Numbers from the 19 truckload manifests we listed in September 2026

To buy a liquidation truckload in Canada without getting scammed: choose a seller with a real warehouse you can check, read the full manifest before you ask for a price, get a written quote, pay only the seller's registered business (never a personal account, and never new bank details sent by email), and check the trailer's seal and pallet count against the bill of lading when it arrives. A truckload is a full 53-foot trailer of customer returns or overstock, usually 23 to 26 pallets and 5,000 to 8,000+ items, sold as one lot.

How to buy a truckload safely, step by step

  1. Check the seller. A street address, a phone number, and a business you can look up, such as its GST/HST number on the Government of Canada registry.
  2. Read the manifest before you pay. It should list every item, its category, quantity and listed retail price, grouped by pallet.
  3. Get a written quote that names the load, the pallet count and exactly who you are paying.
  4. Pay the business, traceably. Not a personal account, not gift cards or crypto. If "new bank details" arrive by email or text, call the seller on the number from their own website before you send anything.
  5. Refuse surprise fees. Extra "insurance", "customs" or "release" fees after you have paid are a classic scam.
  6. Check the truck at delivery. Match the seal number and count the pallets against the bill of lading. Write any problem on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.

How we make each step checkable

  • A verify code on every quote. Every price quote we send carries a code that looks like AD-7KQ3-M9XP. Enter it at amazedeals.ca/verify to see your quote, who to pay (AmazeDeals Inc.), a fingerprint of the manifest you were quoted, and, once the truck ships, its seal number and bill-of-lading pallet count.
  • One way to pay. Quotes come from an @amazedeals.ca address. We never ask you to pay a personal account or anyone other than AmazeDeals Inc., never change payment details by email or text, and never add "insurance", "customs" or "release" fees after you have paid.
  • The Seal & Count Promise. It covers the trailer's seal and the pallet count at delivery. The terms are on our verify page.
  • The manifest first. Every truckload has an item-by-item manifest you can download with no sign-up, and real photos of the actual pallets, on the board or on request.
  • People you can reach. Our warehouse is at 5 Forwell Road, Unit 1, Kitchener, Ontario. Call 1-888-838-1047 (toll-free) or (519) 504-6955 before you pay if anything looks off.

Two more warning signs, whoever you buy from: a price far below everyone else's, and pressure to pay today or lose the load. Real sellers let you read the manifest and think it over.

What is a liquidation truckload?

When shoppers send items back to a big online store, the store does not put most of them back on the shelf. It sells them in bulk, and the biggest lot size is a full truckload. A liquidation truckload is that lot: every pallet in one 53-foot trailer, sold together, with a manifest that lists what is on each pallet.

Buyers are bin stores, discount and dollar stores, flea-market sellers, online resellers and exporters. They buy by the truck because it is the lowest cost per item and it keeps shelves full for weeks.

How many pallets are in a truckload?

A standard 53-foot trailer fits 26 pallets (48 x 40 inch) floor-loaded, two across and thirteen deep. Some loads come in a little under that because tall or oddly shaped pallets take extra room. Here is what the 19 truckloads on our board looked like:

Per truckload Range Typical
Pallets 23 to 26 25
Units (items) 5,027 to 8,291 6,506 (median)
Units per pallet 201 to 338 260
Product categories 36 to 40 38

What is inside a general merchandise truckload?

A "general merchandise" load is mixed. Across the 19 loads, the biggest categories by unit count were:

  • Home: 21.4%
  • Home Improvement: 7.8%
  • Kitchen: 7.3%
  • Toys: 6.4%
  • Phones & Accessories: 6.3%
  • Automotive: 5.9%
  • Beauty: 4.8%
  • Lawn & Garden: 4.7%

The rest spreads across more than 30 smaller categories, from pet supplies to computers. Many items are everyday goods: 43% of units were listed at under $25 retail, and 4.7% were higher-ticket items listed at $100 or more, such as robot vacuums, smartwatches and small appliances. That mix matters. A load that suits a bin store, where everything sells at one low price, is different from one that suits an eBay seller hunting for higher-ticket items.

How to read a truckload manifest

The manifest is the most important document in the deal. Ours are Excel files grouped by pallet, with these columns:

  • Pallet: which pallet the item is on.
  • Description and Item ID: what the item is. The ID lets you look up the exact product.
  • Category and Sub-category: for sorting and for checking the mix.
  • Qty, Unit Retail and Ext Retail: how many, and the listed retail price in CAD.

Three checks worth doing before you ask for a price:

  1. Sort by retail price. See how much of the load is higher-ticket and how much is low-value filler.
  2. Filter by category. Make sure the load matches what your customers actually buy.
  3. Check what those items really sell for. Listed retail is not what you will sell them for. Our manifest appraiser checks any manifest against what similar items sold for at our auctions, and the sold-price library shows real results item by item.

When you get a quote from us, its verify page keeps a fingerprint of the exact manifest you were quoted, so you can confirm later that the file has not changed.

What condition are the items in?

These are customer returns, sold as-is and untested. Expect a mix: many items are new or like-new, some are open-box, and some are used, damaged, incomplete or not working. No one inspects every item in a truckload, so plan for some to be unsellable. Treat a load as a whole, not item by item.

Truckload or pallets: which should you buy?

Full truckload A few pallets
Best for Bin stores, discount stores, established resellers New resellers, testing a category
Cost per item Lowest Higher
Space needed Room for about 25 pallets, and a dock or forklift A garage or small unit
Freight One full-truck (FTL) shipment Part-load (LTL), costs more per pallet

If a full load is too much for now, tell us in the price request how many pallets you want and we will say what is possible.

Getting a truckload to you

You have two options with us: pick up at our Kitchener, Ontario warehouse, or ask us to quote freight to your address anywhere in Canada. Freight cost depends on distance and on whether you take the full truck or part of one, so we quote it per order. Before a trailer arrives, check:

  • A loading dock or a forklift. A 53-foot trailer is unloaded at dock height. With no dock, you need a forklift, or ask for a smaller truck with a liftgate. A smaller truck carries fewer pallets per trip.
  • Floor space for about 25 pallets, plus room to sort.
  • Someone on site during the delivery window. Carriers charge for waiting time.
  • The seal and the count. Before you break the seal, match its number to your paperwork; on our loads it is on your verify page. Count the pallets against the bill of lading and note any shortage or damaged wrap on the delivery receipt before you sign.

Sales tax on a truckload

A truckload sold in Canada is taxable like any other sale: GST/HST, plus PST in the provinces that charge it. If your business is registered for GST/HST, you can usually claim the tax back as an input tax credit. Your accountant can confirm what applies to you.

Buying a truckload for a bin store

Bin stores are among the biggest truckload buyers, because one load fills the bins for weeks. Here is a quick way to plan:

  • Weeks of stock = units in the load Γ· units you put out per week. For example, a 6,500-unit load at 1,000 units a week is about six and a half weeks, before you set aside unsellable items.
  • Check the category mix against what your customers pick. Home, kitchen and toys fill bins well. Too many parts and accessories slows them down.
  • Keep the higher-ticket items (the 4 to 5% listed at $100+) out of the bins and price them separately or sell them online.

Frequently asked questions

How do I avoid liquidation truckload scams?

Buy from a seller with a real address you can check, read the manifest before you pay, get a written quote, and pay only the seller's registered business, never a personal account or new bank details sent by email. Refuse extra fees after payment, and check the seal and pallet count at delivery.

How can I check that a quote really came from AmazeDeals?

Every quote we send carries a verify code. Enter it at amazedeals.ca/verify to see the quote, who to pay (AmazeDeals Inc.) and the manifest fingerprint. No code, or something looks different? Call 1-888-838-1047 (toll-free) or (519) 504-6955 before you pay anything.

How many pallets are in a truckload?

A 53-foot trailer holds up to 26 standard pallets on the floor. The truckloads on our board carried 23 to 26 pallets and 5,027 to 8,291 items each.

Where can I buy liquidation truckloads in Canada?

From liquidation wholesalers with a Canadian warehouse, and from online liquidation marketplaces. AmazeDeals lists full truckloads of customer returns with a manifest for each load. Pick up is in Kitchener, Ontario, or we quote freight anywhere in Canada.

Can I buy less than a full truckload?

Tell us in the price request how many pallets you want, and we will say what is possible for that load.

Is buying a liquidation truckload worth it?

It depends on the load and on how you sell. Look at the category mix and the share of higher-ticket items in the manifest, and check what those items actually sell for. Include freight and the items you will not be able to sell. Our manifest appraiser helps with the second part.

Are liquidation truckloads legit, or a scam?

The trade is real, but some sellers are not. Deal with sellers who have a real address, show the manifest and real pallet photos before payment, and give you a written quote you can check. Walk away from pressure to pay immediately.
