How It All Started

About four years ago, my wife and I were doing what hundreds of thousands of Canadians do quietly every week — buying overstock and returned merchandise online, and reselling it on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, and local auction sites. It started as a side hustle. A way to supplement income, stay busy, and have fun hunting for deals together.

We were home resellers in the truest sense — items stacked in the spare bedroom, sorting through boxes on weekends, posting listings late at night after the kids were in bed. If you've ever done this, you know the thrill. You open a box and you genuinely have no idea what's inside. A brand-new KitchenAid mixer. A sealed Dyson. A pile of Amazon returns. Every box is a surprise.

What we quickly realized was that the potential in this space was enormous — not just for us, but for every Canadian who wanted to build a flexible income stream without a huge upfront investment or a business degree.

So we kept going. We kept buying, sorting, listing, and selling — weekend after weekend — until what started as a hobby became something we genuinely could not stop thinking about.

Growing Into a Real Business

As our volume grew, we moved from the spare bedroom to a small storage unit, then to a proper warehouse here in Ontario. We built direct sourcing relationships with return centres and liquidation suppliers across Canada — meaning we get access to Amazon, Walmart, and Target overstock and customer return pallets that the general public simply cannot buy on their own.

We started packaging curated mystery boxes so that other resellers — beginners and experienced alike — could access the same inventory we built our business on. No warehouse required. No pallet buying. No risk of getting stuck with a single category. Just open, sort, and sell.

We also kept doing what we love: selling live on online auction platforms. To this day, you can catch us hosting live unboxings and auctions where viewers bid in real time and win items at deep discounts. It keeps us connected to the community that made us who we are — real people buying and selling, not a faceless corporation.

Today, AmazeDeals ships mystery boxes to resellers in every province and territory across Canada. We are proud of how far we have come, and equally proud that it is still just us — a family who loves this business — running it every single day.
